Earlier in the year, David Wright's class began making a classic windsor settee by riving the wood from logs and beginning the chair making process. Now the meet up again to put the final touches on their masterpieces!
Our own Doug Dale leads his class through the ins and outs of hand and machine skills as they make a classic shakers style wall clock.
This weekends classes were "Craft a Stereoscope and Learn Stereophotography with David Orth," "Scandinavian Style Figure Carving with Harley Refsal" and "Tools for Finishers: Choosing & Using the Right Brush with Tim Puro." Needless to say, fun was had by all!
We are always happy to have Mary May return to our instructor's bench and so was another group of new carvers in this sold-out class. Her students got a crash course in the fundamentals of classical relief carving and left ready to add carved details to their next project.
This week we were thrilled to have our own Mark Hedin leading a class for students looking to enhance their woodworking projects with alternative materials like concrete, epoxy and stone work. His students were thrilled to have the opportunity to work with these materials, and the level of creativity was off the charts.
This weekend we have "Basic Upholstery with Mike Mascelli, "Small Decorative Cabinets with Doug Stowe" and "Taking Control of Color: The Next Step in Finishing with Mitch Kohanek" in the shop.
