Karen's Cafe - 10/1/12

Useless knowledge that you won't have to spend time figuring out... since I already have.

You can't catch a fly with a shop-vac. It just doesn't work. [wish I'd been there to see that one! -markwithak]

We have some veteran instructors here this week!! Paul Schurch, Clay Foster and Kerry Pierce are here at MASW sharing their knowledge with the students. Whooo!

Countless students...(okay, really only one....(sigh!) wanted to know why we name out kitchen gadgets! Well it should be obvious! However, for those who are clueless as to how my mind works...errr that is to say, how we do things around here, let me explain. Melvin (our now deceased steam mop) was known professionally as "The Shark." However, Amy (a.k.a. "the new girl") and I decided that "The Shark" was too agressive a name for the kitchen. We want there to be peace and harmony in the kitchen. It promotes optimal cooking performance. Thusly, our students are happy with the quality of the food that comes out of the kitchen. Thusly, our students learn at a much higher rate and quality than as if they didn't eat at this, errr...high of rate and quality? Well anyway, back to Melvin. So, even if Melvin never really cooked per se, except of course he got all "steamed" up to clean the floor! HA-HA! Get it? "Cooked?"... "Steamed?"..never mind.

We couldn't let the other gadgets get all upset by saying "Shark" in the kitchen now could we? Just think what could happen. I shudder at the thought.

So that's why....um, what was the question?

Karen ;)
