During this two day workshop students will build a walnut Federal eagle inlayed document box. Jeff and Steve will uncover the traditional period furniture construction techniques needed to build this outstanding piece. All aspects of the construction joinery needed in the building of this inlayed Federal document box will be covered. Students will experience cutting dovetails by hand, assembly and hand setting the eagle pattern along with other Federal inlays. There will be different Federal inlayed borders to choose from for edge treatment. The main center piece will be a marquetry eagle made by Marc in a "ready to assemble" kit form. There will be lots of construction secrets from these two American woodworking legends.
