Classes at Marc Adams School of Woodworking
Infuse Your Work with New Possibilities with Mark Hedin
Dates: 8/29 - 8/29
This one day seminar on resin infusion, commonly referred to as stabilization, will teach you the process by which wood and other materials can be impregnated with epoxy resins. Explore Mark's ground breaking techniques for applying this process to the design and construction of fine furniture. Discover the potential for creating your own unique and one of a kind turning blanks. Imagine what can be done with wood once it has been permanently stabilized as a material and the less than desirable traits of this material are overcome.
Mark has furthered an existing process of plasticizing to make it applicable to woodworkers of all sorts beyond the current limitations of the technique. Once you have learned the process to surface infuse and vacuum infuse your materials a whole new world of possibilities open up. There are profound structural repercussions for impregnating your materials with resin as well as new aesthetic potential. Learn the process of dyeing and double dyeing your infusions. This simple but relatively unexplored process will change the way you view your materials, design and construction considerations, and the context or environment in which your work can be placed. Whether you want to turn a piece of beautiful spalted wood into a turned vessel or fine furniture component you will not want to miss this class.
