This small Shaker-style table is a perfect blend of traditional joints and delicate lines and it will look perfect alongside your sofa or next to your bed. And, you can build it in just two days even if you're a beginning woodworker (and beginners are most welcome!). You'll learn one of the fundamental joints in furniture the mortise-and-tenon, and how to make tapered legs as we combine hand and power tools in this simple (but handsome) table.

Key Points:

*Properly select stock for the various parts of a table
*Glue up a panel for the tabletop
*Sharpen and set up a block plane
*Cut tapered legs at the band saw and clean them up using a block plane
*Lay out mortise-and-tenon joints
*Cut tenons at the table saw
*Set up and use a mortising machine
*Get your project ready to finish
