Classes at Marc Adams School of Woodworking
Parent/Child Making a Skateboard/Longboard with Chris Gochnour
Dates: 6/13 - 6/14
Chris started his woodworking career building skateboards to use in slalom and half pipe competitions throughout the Intermountain West. Over three decades later, he's building them with his son and having a blast doing it. Building a skateboard requires many basic woodworking skills such as stock preparation, lamination and pattern routing. Participants will have a great time designing boards and selecting beautiful and interesting woods to create a distinctive style. The boards will remind you of the classic "woody" surfboards where craftsmen incorporated exotic woods that created an original style. Bring out your younger side or engage in a great parent/child woodworking activity. Note-parents will not be required to try it out upon completion. Trucks and wheels are not included, but will be made available for purchase at class. Students are also welcome to bring their own.
