Masters Fellowship

This course is for anyone who wants to take their furniture to the next level; the objective is to add an incredible range of exciting curved edges and inlay possibilities for woodworkers. The class project is to design and create an organic form tabletop with an extreme French curved hardwood edge and "over the top" fine inlays — lots of them. The use of template guides and off set patterns will be fully revealed. Fine inlays in various materials from wood, stone, metal, glow-in-the-dark composite and much more will be used to add just the right detail to any project. Students will learn how to make and refine inlay from metal to wood. Each day Scott will discuss process, material selection, and alternatives (lots of them) for choosing the right technique and tool for each task, followed by plenty of hands-on practice. Students will come away with a better understanding of how to embellish their work, how to master curved joinery and overcome all its challenges, and take it "over the edge." Scott is an enthusiastic and high-energy craftsman and a great teacher ; be prepared to push your limits.
