Masters Fellowship Turning

You may have learned the hard way that without some understanding of all the forces and variables involved with holding a tool up to a spinning piece of wood, turning can often be a very confusing and frustrating activity. Why struggle so much and miss out on what the lathe has to offer?

Turning can be the most efficient (and fun) method for quickly shaping structural elements, making simple but strong connections, and producing functional and decorative elements to enhance any furniture project.

Regardless of your turning experience level, this class is for anyone who wants to refine their skills while exploring the creative applications of the lathe. A wide variety of tools, techniques, and design strategies will be clearly explained, helping you to integrate turning with your other woodworking skills. A series of short exercises combined with plenty of one-on-one instruction, will help you quickly develop the critical 'feel' and awareness for cutting dynamics that provide the freedom to produce any shape you can imagine with crisp surfaces requiring little or no sanding.

By the end of the week you will have established valuable foundation skills, a big bag of technical tricks, and new sense of possibility for your work.

If you do not currently consider the lathe as one of the most versatile tools in your woodshop, then this class will definitely change your mind.
