Dates: 10/19/2017 - 10/21/2017
Tool List: Click here for tool list
Finishing remains a perplexing realm to many woodworkers, and in this three day workshop Don will demystify finishing and replicate the techniques of centuries long past, employing the materials and methods of craftsmen from these earlier days. Working through the strategy developed by Don, students will become familiar with each of the six components of perfect finishing, especially as applied to the historic finishes of spirit varnishes and wax, along with some traditional coloration methods.
- Preparing surfaces for finish application
- Choosing and preparing the finishes themselves
- The finisher's tools
- Techniques for application of spirit varnishes and wax
- Working under the "right" conditions (and "wrong" conditions too!)
There is a $45 annual registration fee that will be added to your the total amount of the class if this is the first class you are registering for this season.
