This class will consist of both lecture and hands-on experiences. The student will come away with a fuller understanding of all that goes into traditional design and construction. Hands-on time will be spent drawing, building models, and making sample joinery. The subtleties and intricacies of the various 18th Century styles will be thoroughly investigated. Students will explore the details of William and Mary, Queen Anne, Chippendale, and Neoclassic (Federal, Hepplewhite, Sheraton) styles.
