Masters Fellowship

All well built furniture starts with a design. Either borrowed or something you create specifically to your liking. This class will help expand the understanding of the basic elements of furniture design, making it easier to build well functioned and aesthetically pleasing furniture, regardless of the style. Over the course of the week students will explore the range of design choices that are made in creating well designed furniture. Working with crude sketches through basic drafting students will design some essential pieces of furniture, spending time with joinery and ergonomic considerations along the way. Mark will also share his design process, which includes full scale sketching and model making. Students will work on developing a design process suited to their style and abilities.
